It Was A Sunday Afternoon Stroll For Fantasy Stakes Winner

October 27, 2007

Dancing Allstar pushed her earnings to over $300,000 with an easy two-length victory Saturday in the $109,217 Fantasy Stakes at Hastings Racecourse.

Scoring her fifth victory in seven starts this year including four stakes races for juvenile fillies, jockey Mario Gutierrez appeared as though he was just out for an afternoon stroll on the impressive two-year-old owned by Bob Cheema and trained by Terry Jordan.

Dancing Allstar broke sharply, gained command from the outside and led throughout in hand, paying $2.10 to win and the same to place without show betting on the agenda for the five-horse field.

“That’ll be it for her until next year,” Jordan said in the winner’s circle. “She’s done everything we’ve asked of her and more.”

Dancing Allstar covered the 1 1/16-miles in 1:45.91 and picked up $65,530 for the win.

The final stakes race of the 2007 Hastings season – the $100,000 Ascot Graduation – is set for Sunday with first post time 1:25 p.m.
