HASTINGS SAYS ‘AU REVOIR’ ON FAN APPRECIATION DAY NOV. 4Posted: October 29, 2007
Vancouver, B.C. (Oct. 29/07) – With long shot Royal Hudson having won the final stakes race of the season at Hastings Racecourse this past Sunday, the focus now turns to the closing weekend of the 2007 meet on Saturday/Sunday, Nov. 3-4. In a salute to its customers, Hastings will be offering free live programs and a $1 menu that includes coffee, hot dogs, soft drinks and popcorn on Sunday, Nov. 4. Also, everyone on hand will have a chance to win a Vancouver Sightseeing trip for two, courtesy of Landsea Tours. Jockey Richard Hamel took Royal Hudson on quite a tour in the $100,000 Ascot Graduation last Sunday (Oct. 28). From last to first coming through on the rail, Royal Hudson beat the favoured Desert Alf by a half-length. Royal Hudson, owned by George Gilbert, Dr. Karl Chan and Glyn Kelly, paid $19.10. It was the third career Ascot winner for veteran trainer Dave Forster, who connected with Torrey Ridge in 1996 and Highland Appeal in 1990. Dancing Allstar did as expected Saturday in winning the $100,000 Fantasy Stakes two lengths ahead of Remarkable Miss. It was Dancing Allstar’s fourth stakes win of the season. First post on the final Nov. 3-4 weekend goes at 1:25 p.m. on Saturday & 12:25 p.m. on Sunday. |
